Both sides are heading into the match on the back of domestic success last weekend, with the Sky Blues defeating Manchester United 2-1 in the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadim. Nerazzurri, on the other hand, edged past Torino 1-0 in their final Serie A-match of the season.

Manchester City thrashed holders Real Madrid 5-1 in the two-legged semi-final tie. Nerazzuri secured a comprehensive 3-0 aggregate win over arch rivals AC Milan in the European semi-final. Following a 2-0 first leg success where they were dominant as away team at San Siro, Inter prevailed 1-0 in the second leg on May 16 through Martinez’s second-half strike, and thereby booked their ticket to Istanbul. Inzaghi’s men are heading into the match on the back of some brilliant form, having recorded 11 wins and one defeat from their last 12 games across all competitions and will be hoping to discover the formula to prolong Man city’s European gloom.
