Lyon are unbeaten in their last seven games across all competitions, while they have managed to win all of their previous four matches. In their most recent outing, a Signe Bruun hat-trick, Selma Bacha brace, one goal each from Janice Cayman and Ines Benyahia, and an own goal by Madeline Roth helped Lyon thrash Dijo 8-0 in Saturday’s league-game. The result helped the Les Fenottes move to 28 points from 10 games and secure a two point lead at the summit of Division 1 Feminine standings. Meanwhile, the European champions have work to do if they are to retain their Champions League title. Sonia Bompastor’s side began their Champions League campaign with a 5-1 defeat to Arsenal, before playing out a 1-1 draw against Juventus and then thrashed Zurich 3-0 in November.
Zurich , on the other hand, were beaten 2-0 by Juventus in their opening match of the Champions League group stage, before Arsenal brushed them aside via a 3-1 scoreline. Another disappointing result followed two weeks ago against Lyon, leaving Zurich bottom of the group without a point to their name. While reaching the knockout rounds may prove to be a near-impossible task, Zurich will be aiming to pick up some points in their three remaining games.
