Lens will host Montpellier in a Ligue 1 fixture at Stade Bollaert Delelis on Saturday. The hosts are heading into the match on the back of a narrow 1-0 defeat to Lille last Sunday, while Montpellier suffered a 2-0 defeat to Monaco on the same day. Lens are currently occupying fourth position in the standings, having 21 points from 10 games, five points adrift of leaders Paris Saint-Germain. The visitors, meanwhile, are sitting at the 10th position, with 12 points.

Lens, who finished seventh in the Ligue 1 standings last season, have made an impressive start this term, having recorded six wins and three draws thus far. Les Sang et suffered their only defeat of the campaign against Lille last weekend, courtesy of Jonathan David’s lone goal, from the penalty spot, on the stroke of half-time. Although Lens had an opportunity to level things up, Florian Sotoca saw his spot kick kept out by Lucas Chevalier, 15 minutes from time.

Montpellier, on the other hand, conceded two times against Monaco to suffer their sixth league defeat of the campaign. Breel Embolo broke the deadlock, on the stroke of half-time, before Myron Boadu doubled the lead, ten minutes from time to hand the defeat to La Paillade.  It was Montpellier’s fourth defeat in the last five games. But, despite the spate of losses, La Paillade lie in the middle of the points table, with 12 points, four clear of relegation zone.
