The Whites conceded a last-gasp goal against Blues last time out courtesy of Lukas Jutkiewicz’s 91st-minute effort. Injuries to key players seems to have affected the balance of the squad. West Brom, on the other hand, made a disappointing start to their new campaign, losing their opening two games against Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City in the Championship and EFL Cup respectively. However, the Baggies responded with an impressive victory over Swansea last time out thanks to goals from Semi Ajayi’s opener inside the opening 18 minutes, and own goal by Carl Rushworth five minutes into the second-half and John Swift’s 64th-minute penalty-kick. Although the Swans scored two late goals through Harry Darling and Nathan Wood, Carlos Corberan’s side managed to hold on to the slender lead and secured all three points.
