Fiorentina will host Lazio in a Serie A fixture at Stadio Artemio Franchi on Monday night. Both sides were involved in Europa fixtures in the midweek. The hosts thrashed Hearts 3-0 in a Europa conference League match on Thursday, while Lazio played out a goalless draw against SK Sturm Graz in a Europa League match on the same day. Meanwhile, in the Italian top flight standings, Fiorentina are languishing at the 13th spot, having collected just nine points from their opening eight games. The visistors, on the other hand, have pocketed 17 points from eight games to be sitting at the sixth position in the table.

Fiorentina netted three times against Hearts without reply to record their first European wiin of the campaign. Rolando Mandragora opened the scoring before Christian Kouame doubled the lead and Luka Jovic put the icing on the cake with a late third goal of the night. Prior to that, Viola suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Atalanta in a Serie A match, last weekend. Ademoola Lokman’s lone goal on the hour-mark was enough to separate the two sides and hand Fiorentina their league defeat of the season. Meanwhile Vincenzo Italiano’s side has registered just two Serie A wins this term. 

Lazio, on the other hand, have made an impressive start to the Serie A campaign, having recorded five victories thus far. In their last league match against Spezia, Maurizio Sarri’s side netted four times without reply. Mattia Zacagni opened the scoring before Alessio Romagnoli doubled the lead mid-way through the first half. And then, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s second half double sealed the win for the Eagles. It was Lazio’s third consecutive league win. The White and Sky Blues have now scored 10 goals in their last three Serie A games, while conceding none.

Probable Lineups

Fiorentina boss Italiano is unlikely to make too many changes to the side that lost to Atalanta last weekend. Atonin Barak and Jonathan Ikone are unlikely to be available for Monday’s game due to various reasons. Jouame, Jovic and Saponara are expected to form the front-three. As for Lazio, Sarri is likely opt for the same starting eleven that thrashed Spezia. Immobile might lead the line with Felipe Anderson and Zaccagni in support.
