Manchester United have an important game in the Champions League coming up against FC Copenhagen. The Red Devils are in a must-win situation following their horrendous start to the competition this season. United lost both their opening games to Bayern Munich and Galatasaray. It put them in big trouble and their quest to qualify from the group was hanging by a thread. However, a late penalty save by Andre Onana allowed Man United to get their first win of the competition against the Danish club in the last game.

These two teams are going head-to-head once again and this time the match will happen at FC Copenhagen’s home. Both sides will be keen for the three points to give them hope of getting out of their Champions League group. Ahead of the massive clash, Manchester United supporters have been sweating over the injury situation of some of their players. Marcus Rashford missed their win over Fulham in the Premier League at the weekend. Besides, Harry Maguire also seemed to struggle with a small issue during the game.

Will Marcus Rashford be fit?

Manager Erik ten Hag was asked in relation to Harry Maguire if they had followed any protocols for concussion to make sure he is ready. “So we did all the protocols during the game, after the game. So he is ready to play. Not any indication,” ten Hag, quoted on the club’s website, said in his pre-match press conference. Asked how ready is Rashford, the manager replied, “100 per cent. Rashy missed one game out, but it was a small knock and he is back.”

The manager was then questioned about other injured players in the squad. He was specifically asked about Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez, who are out for the long term. “I have some time schedules but it’s always difficult to predict that because there can be setbacks during a rehab period. I’m always holding back a little bit on such issues. I expect some players back [soon] but Casemiro and Martinez are really strong injuries – I don’t expect them back before Christmas. It’s several weeks [out for Casemiro],” he elaborated.

The 1-0 win against Fulham at the weekend was extremely crucial for Manchester United, as it ended their two-game losing run in all competitions. Ten Hag was informed that against Fulham he had said he wanted to press. When asked to explain what levels he is looking for in the pressing department, ten Hag said, “I think it is pretty clear what you expect. You need good formation, good constructions and then composed on the ball, find the solution on the ball.”

He added: “There are moments you go more direct and it depends on which solution is the best and the players have to make the right decisions. I have to tell them which positions to go into but finally, it is up to the players also to find solutions because an opponent can do different things and they have to find different positions. And then they have to make decisions on the ball and it is between the player on the ball who has to receive and play the ball. The decision making on the ball, the movement off the ball.”
