Tiemoue Bakayoko will be back for another stint at AC Milan. The Frenchman has found himself frozen out of contention in west London. Therefore as per reports, Chelsea and AC Milan have struck a deal that will see Bakayoko move to San Siro for a two-year loan spell. The midfielder has struggled to impress Thomas Tuchel since his return from Napoli, but did impress during the loan spell with AC Milan. And he will now return to Serie A on a loan move that could become permanent further down the line.

As suggested by the player himself on Twitter, it is just a matter of time until he puts pen-to-paper. The Rossoneri finalized the agreement with Chelsea yesterday, Sky Sport reports.

Bakayoko will soon put pen to paper to seal his return to Italian football. The 27-year-old will at first move on loan in a deal that will last two seasons. And at the end of the spell, in June 2023, if Milan redeemed him, they would pay a total of 20 million euros between the initial fee and the option to buy, as long as he meets certain player-related conditions specified by the two clubs in their agreement.

Meanwhile, the Blues will extend his contract to June 2024 this week in order to avoid losing him on a free at the end of this current deal and hope to cope 20 million euros in future sale.

Bakayoko was eager to reunite with the Rossoneri and took a 500,000 euro pay cut to facilitate the deal. He will make 2.5 million euros per season. And he will provide more midfield options for Stefano Pioli, considering also that Franck Kessié and Ismael Bennacer will take part in the African Cup of Nations in January.

His arrival would pave the way for Tommaso Pobega to go out on loan again. The Italian midfielder is reportedly close to joining Torino. Meanwhile, Pioli wants to add more players as they are in talks to bring in either Yacine Adil or Ellyes Sakhiri.

The 27-year-old previously made 42 appearances for Milan scoring one goal in the 2018/19 season. And then he went on loan to French side Monaco and Napoli.

Bakayoko joined Chelsea as a highly rated player in 2017 from Monaco. The deal was worth around GBP 40 million, making him the club’s second most expensive signing of all time, behind Fernando Torres. However, the Frenchman failed to live up to the expectations.

After a disappointing debut season, he left for Milan on loan. Although he found his feet in Italy, further temporary moves followed in the next two seasons.

The Blues already have a very strong and settled midfield line-up consisting of Jorginho, N’Golo Kante, Mason Mount etc, which means it would be hard for Bakayoko to get consistent game time, making this move a good one for the French international.
