Two sides looking to secure their first Championship victory of the season will be up against each other on Saturday as Cardiff City host Queens Park Rangers at Cardiff City Stadium. The hosts started off their English second tier campaign with a thrilling 2-2 draw against Leeds United last weekend, while QPR were thrashed 4-0 by Watford in their league-opener. Meanwhile, the Bluebirds recorded their first success of the campaign against Colchester in the EFL Cup first round fixture on Wednesday and will be looking to build on that success. Although, the most recent encounter between these two sides in Leckwicth area in December last year ended in a goalless draw, the Hoops have prevailed in three of their last five clashes against Cardiff.

Cardiff traveled to Elland Road on Sunday and took a 2-0 lead in the first-half thanks to new signings Hosh Bowler and Ike Ugbo finding the back of the net, but the Peacocks came out all guns blazing in the second-half and leveled the score courtesy of strikes from Liam cooper and Crysencio Summerville. The Bluebirds then play host to Shrewsbury in the EFL Cup first round on Wednesday and prevailed 3-0 on penalties after the match ended 2-2 in regulation time. Rubin Colwill and Kion Etete netted for Erol Bulut’s side at the Cardiff City Stadium in the mid-week, before Mahlon Romeo, Sheyi Ojo and Ike Ugbo converted from the penalty spot in the tiebreaker.
QPR, on the other hand, have their EFL Cup fixture scheduled for Tuesday, and therefore they had a full week to dwell on a massively worrying start to their league season at Watford last Saturday. The Hoops conceded four goals in the first half through Tom Dele-Bashiru, Imran Louza, Matheus Martins and Vakoun Issouf. The visitors registered just a solitary attempt on target in the entire 90 minutes of play compared to 13 by the Hornets. Having avoided the drop by finishing just six points clear of the bottom three in the English second tier last season, Super Hoops are once again one of the favourties for relegation to League One this season.

QPR probable starting lineup: Begovic, Kakay, Fox, Cook, Paal, Dozzell, Field, Chair, Willock, Armstrong, Dykes
