The Archbishops are heading into the match on the back of a 2-0 win over Boavista on Saturday, while Cardiff played two 60-minute games against Bristol Rovers, winning 2-1. Braga had a solid season in the Primeira Liga last term, securing a third-place finish, while The Bluebirds managed to avoid relegation courtesy of finishing at the 21st spot in the Championship standings, just four points clear of the relegation zone.

Braga have never won the Portuguese top flight title, but they have secured a top four finish in each of their last five Primeira Liga season’s. The Bluebirds made a managerial change in the summer, with Erol Bulut replacing Sabri Lamouchi at the helm. The 48-year-old tactician has already overseen four friendlies, recording three wins and one draw in the process. The two most recent games have come against Bristol Rovers, in what were only 60-minute matches. Meanwhile, Cardiff have recently completed the signing of former Arsenal and Juventus player Aaron Ramsey from French club Nice.
