A few boards of My Hero Academia Chapter 349 raw scan were leaked today, confirming the majority of the previous chapter’s speculations.

This chapter’s focus shifts between three different locations, from Uraraka to Deku to Dabi and Shoto.

Furthermore, more information about One for All and the Second User has been revealed, with the chapter laying the groundwork for a complete retelling of Dabi’s backstory in the next issue. The manga is rumoured to be taking a break next week, but this has not been confirmed.

My Hero Academia Chapter 349 Raw Scan: Okuto Island

My Hero Academia Chapter 349 begins with Deku using Fa Jin and Float to fly across the ocean towards U.A. Because of the new costume, he is unable to use OFA to its full potential. He can’t use the ocean as a foothold for Blackwhip, so he’s not going as fast as he could.

The Second User’s relic appears. He warns Deku that using his Quirk is risky because OFA has transformed it into an unpredictable force. He advises Deku to take the safer, longer route and to put his trust in his friends.

Toga declares on Okuto Island that she is tired of the heroes and will now do what she wants. Uravity responds by taking a fighting stance and stating that she, too, will do what is right.

Froppy is relieved that Deku is no longer present because she does not believe he is capable of compartmentalising.

Kamino Ward

My Hero Academia Chapter 349 then shifts to Kamino, where the ward is engulfed in flames, eerily similar to Hosu. A Nomu with the ability to produce large needles is causing problems for the heroes. Iida tells Shoto Todoroki that he can’t get any closer to the flames without endangering his engines.

Dabi, who had been surveying the area while clinging to the All Might statue, falls to where Shoto is standing amidst the flames with Burnin, Kido, and Onima. Kido is surviving the heat by deflecting the flames away from him, and a portion of his face is visible.

While Dabi is offended that Endeavor is not present to confront him, Burnin affirms that they trust the Flame Hero despite not knowing anything about the Todoroki family.

Shoto expresses gratitude to his father’s sidekicks for their assistance and informs his brother that he has come here of his own volition. This is because he would not be the hero he desires if he left Touya to his fate.

Dabi comes to the conclusion that the entire war is a clash of personal ideologies, an upheaval of everything that holds the system together. Dabi aspires to usher in a paradigm shift alongside the League, who embody this society’s false ideals.

Shoto questions his brother about why he did not return to them after surviving the Sekoto Peak fire. Touya decides it’s time to tell Shoto everything that changed Touya Todoroki into Dabi, the entire origin story.

What More Can Be Expected?

The appearance of the Second User and the progression at Kamino are the two most significant developments in My Hero Academia Chapter 349.

For those who were hoping for a time-traveling Bakugo, the Second User uses the older term “Meta Ability” rather than “Quirk,” confirming that he is not a time-traveling Bakugo. His quirk may be revealed in the following chapter.

Toga’s next move, “Sad Man’s Parade,” appears to be beyond Uravity and Froppy’s abilities. Many people have suggested that Hawks be present for the conclusion of Twice’s storey, just as Endeavor should be present for the retelling of Dabi’s origin.

Dabi’s skin is seen shedding and burning away, exposing his bones and muscles. Readers will recall that all that was discovered of Toya Todoroki was a portion of his jaw, and Dabi’s lower jaw appears to be both exposed and reconstructed. Most fans have interpreted this as confirmation that Toya will not survive this war.

Dabi’s origin story will almost certainly be tragic and moving enough for Shoto to gain new insights into his brother’s personality. However, it is unlikely that it will completely turn him against the heroes. Hopefully, My Hero Academia Chapter 349’s official translation will clear things up.
