Patch 7.04 marked the start of Episode 7 Act 2 on August 29, providing significant changes to the game’s meta. Notably, Jett was nerfed significantly, and a new map was added to the rotation. After giving players a week to get to know Sunset, the Los Angeles-based battleground is prepared to enter the competitive arena with Patch 7.05. However, this current version includes a welcome buff for the controller, Astra, as well as a new rule affecting Ascendant players when they queue for Competitive matches.

Valorant Update 7.05 Patch Notes

  • Astra’s Auditory Enhancement

Astra’s disability to sense her surroundings while in Astral form has always put her at a disadvantage when compared to other agents. This restriction has been removed with the release of Valorant patch 7.05. Astra will now be able to hear everything going on around her, even when she is in her Astral form. This substantial upgrade allows her to gather vital intelligence on enemy movements and quickly communicate it to her team, improving her strategic capabilities on the battlefield.

  • Competitive Party Adjustments

Riot Games has made a significant modification for Ascendant and higher-ranked players in order to safeguard the integrity of competitive play. They can now ask players who are Platinum or higher to join their competitive party. This change was implemented to prevent rank boosting through the use of bots from being exploited. Riot hopes to create a more balanced and competitive gaming environment by restricting party invitations to players within a specified skill range.

  • Welcome to Sunset Map

Sunset, the widely anticipated new map, is all set to make its competitive map rotation debut. Valorant’s competitive battlegrounds are currently Ascent, Bind, Breeze, Haven, Lotus, Split, and Sunset. Sunset’s inclusion promises to inject a new element into competitive battles, providing new challenges and chances for players to explore.

Valorant’s 7.05 update introduces interesting enhancements to the game, from Astra’s better situational awareness to the strengthening of competition integrity through party limits. With the addition of Sunset, the competitive map pool becomes even more diverse, ensuring that Valorant remains a dynamic and developing esports experience for both players and viewers. Stay tuned for further information as Valorant continues to evolve and revolutionise the tactical shooter genre.
