Behind the Scenes

The production of this remarkable live-action adaptation was handled by Tomorrow Studios, a partnership between the seasoned producer Marty Adelstein (known for hits like Prison Break and Teen Wolf) and ITV Studios. The show’s writing prowess was attributed to Matt Owens, known for his work on Luke Cage and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Meanwhile, the dynamic duo of Steven Maeda and Becky Clements took on the roles of executive producers.

Oda’s Vision Realized

As an executive producer for the show, One Piece’s visionary creator Eiichiro Oda also played a key role. Oda stated back in May that the series wouldn’t be released until he was completely satisfied with it, which is a testament to his devotion to excellence. In order to bring this epic adaptation to life, he emphasised how crucial it was for all parties to work together flawlessly.

The live-action adaptation’s creator, Marty Adelstein, indicated in a video message at Jump Festa in 2017 that it would start with the East Blue arc and then broaden its scope from there. This declaration established the framework for what he called “a true One Piece,” promising fans an extraordinary encounter after in-depth negotiations with Oda himself.
