Free Fire overtakes PUBG Mobile as Top Grossing Mobile Game

For the first time, Free Fire has gone past the earnings of PUBG Mobile in the United States. These numbers come from the user spending data. Free Fire is one of the biggest rivals that PUBG has. The former has finally managed to take over the latter’s quarterly spending data report.

According to a report by SensorTower. “Garena Free Fire generated approximately $100 million in revenue during the last quarter, a nearly 4.5 times increase from the same period the year prior. That was enough to put it above PUBG Mobile for the only the second time ever in a quarter, with Tencent’s title accumulating $68 million in player spending, up more than 9 percent year-over-year.”

Free Fire enjoys a lot of popularity in Latin America. Developed by Garena, Free Fire has kept its user base actively engaged by collaborating with few of the biggest names in the world. Footballer Cristiano Ronalodo, Bollywood actor Hritik Roshan, to name a few. These partnerships help in keeping the audience engaged for a longer time.

PUBG Mobile was one of the most popular battle royale titles. However, its growth has been stagnant this year. Free Fire has only been able to overthrow PUBG Mobile in the U.S.. But globally, PUBG Mobile’s earnings stand at $744.4 million player spending.

PUBG Mobile saw a growth of 3.3% on the YoY basis. Free Fire, on the other hand, saw a growth of 80.8% on the YoY basis. COD Mobile is in third place with a YoY growth of 127% and has earnt $182 million.

Free Fire is quickly catching up behind PUBG Mobile could just show a completely different story, and PUBG could be dethroned altogether.
