Beth Mooney is a professional cricketer, who plays for Australian women’s cricket team Internationally. Beth has represented the Australian team in all the three formats of the game. Beth was born on 14 January 1994 in the Shepparton region of Victoria, Australia. She is a left handed batter and a full time wicket keeper. Beth plays for Perth Scorchers and Western Australia in domestic cricket. After Beth’s performance in the 2020 T20 world cup, especially in the finals, she was ranked no.1 batter in women’s T20 Internationals as per the ICC rankings. Beth, in her early age used to play sports like Tennis, Soccer, Australian rules football and others. After turning 8, when she was called to play in her brother’s team, from then her cricketing career started.

Beth along with her family shifted to Hervey Bay, Queensland, when was 10 years old. Beth did her schooling from Star of the Sea Catholic Primary School and her graduation from Xavier Catholic College. After completing her school, Beth started a course to get a degree in teaching. Soon after she realized that she would not get another chance to make it to the Australian team and she left her studies in 2014 and focused just on cricket. It was in 2010, when Beth played her debut match for the Queensland Fire in the Women’s National Cricket League. In the 2018-19 season of Women’s Big Bash League, Beth was named in Brisbane Heat’s team.

In the finals of the 2019 Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) season, Beth came out of the dizziness due to the hot weather and scored the winning runs for Brisbane Heat. Alyssa Healy from Sydney Sixers in the opposition was seen sledging Beth, but Brisbane Heat team’s and Beth’s outstanding performance helped them to win their first ever title. Beth became the first player in the WBBL to reach the milestone of 3000 runs in the 2020 season on 21 November. In the 2022 season of The Hundred, Beth was signed by London Spirit to play for them. In the first edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL), a T20 league of India, Beth Mooney was signed by Gujarat Titans for a whooping INR 2 crores.

It was on 26 January 2016, when Beth played her T20I debut match against India. On 20 February 2016, Beth played her debut Women’s One Day International (WODI) against New Zealand. Beth’s first hundred in WODI came on 26 February 2017 while playing against New Zealand. She became part of the Australian women’s team that played in the 2017 ICC world cup. In 2018, she became one of the 14 players to get a central contract in the Australian team. Beth was selected in the Australia team to play Ashes against England in June 2019. Beth was named player of the tournament, as she was the highest run scorer in the 2020 ICC T20 world cup. Beth and Alyssa set the record of highest partnership, when they scored 151 runs in a match against Bangladesh. Beth hit a half century in the 2022 ICC world cup and helped her team win the title.
