Ellyse Perry is a professional women cricketer who plays for Australian women’s national cricket team. Ellyse has represented the Australian national team in all the three formats of the game. Ellyse was born on 3 November 1990 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. She is called Pez by her teammates. Ellyse is an all round cricketer, she is capable of contributing in both batting and bowling departments of the team. She is a right handed batter and a right arm medium fast bowler. Ellyse is the youngest Australian to debut in both ICC and FIFA, as at the age of 16, she played for Australian cricket team and Australian soccer team in ICC and FIFA. She chose cricket from there onwards and today she is one of the best female cricketers in the world. 

Ellyse’s batting and bowling, both are at peak, as she has mastered both. She is the first female cricketer to score 1000 runs and take 100 wickets in T20 Internationals. In her early days at school, Ellyse used to play many other sports as well, like Tennis, Touch Football. Ellyse and Alyssa Healy are friends from the age of 9 and have been playing cricket together since then. In 2007, at the age of 16, Ellyse played for the New South Wales cricket team in the interstate tournament. Later, she was selected to play in the Australia youth team against New Zealand. It was on 22 July 2007, when Ellyse played her One Day International debut match for Australia against New Zealand at Darwin. At the age of 16, she became the youngest player to ever represent Australia.

On 1 February 2008, Ellyse played her T20 Internationals debut match against England, in which she scored an important 29 runs and grabbed 4 wickets by giving only 20 runs in 4 overs. She was named player of the match for her all round performance. In the 2007-08 women’s ashes series, Ellyse became the youngest Australian Test cricket player, when she made her debut on 15 February. In the 2010 ICC T20 world cup, Ellyse played a very crucial role in Australia’s win. In the finals against New Zealand, Ellyse took 3 wickets while defending a total of 106. Ellyse was named player of the finals for her outstanding performance. In the 2010-11 women’s Ashes, Ellyse took 4 wickets in first innings and helped Australia win the match and the trophy after 6 years. 

In the year 2012, Australia women team won their second T20 world cup title by defeating England in the finals and Ellyse was again one of the top performers in the tournament. In the 2013 ICC women world cup finals against West Indies, Ellyse with her injury bowled 10 overs, took 3 wickets and helped her team win the match and the title. She earned the title of “Australia’s limping hero”. In the 2013-13 Ashes, she was named player of the match, as she was the top scorer and took 8 wickets in a match. Ellyse Perry has been a part of Australian women’s cricket team that has won 6 T20 world cups and 2 ICC cricket world cups. Ellyse also played in the inaugural season of Women’s Premier League (WPL), as she was signed by Ellyse Perry.
