Washington Sundar is an international cricketer who plays for India in all formats of the game. He was born on October 5th 1999. Sundar developed a liking for cricket at a very young age. He went from being a batsman to making a name for himself as a right-arm offspinner. The young all-rounder started his Indian Premier League (IPL) career with Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) in 2017, which was followed by a stint with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and now plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). He performed well in his IPL debut season and has the best figures for any bowler in an IPL final after taking three wickets for 16 runs.
At the age of 18 years and 80 days, he became the youngest player to debut for India in T20Is. In March 2018, he was selected as the player of the tournament for his performance in the tri-nation T20I series involving Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Sundar was initially chosen as a net bowler for India’s tour of Australia 2020-21. However, he made his Test debut in the final match at Gabba after the injury problems in the Indian squad and played a key role in India’s eventual victory in the Test match.
