Warwickshire and Essex are all set to take on each other in the first quarter-final of the T20 Blast 2023 on Thursday, July 6 at the Edgbaston in Birmingham. Essex had a not-so-good tournament so far. They finished fourth in the points table in the South Group with 16 points and a net run rate of +0.088 courtesy of eight wins out of 14 matches as well. However, they will go into the game after beating Surrey by three wickets as well. After being asked to chase down a huge target of 196, Essex reached the target on the last ball thanks to Michael Kyle-Pepper’s 75-run knock as well.
Warwickshire, led by Alex Davies, have had a stunning campaign so far. They finished on top of the points table in the North Group with 22 points and a net run rate of +0.819 as well thanks to wins in 11 out of 14 games.
