Their confidence was so much that they were tasked with bowling in the death overs of an international match. Kuldeep Yadav is one of the few bowlers in the world who has taken a five-wicket haul in all three formats of the game. In addition, he is one of the few players who has taken two hat-tricks in ODIs. Against Australia and the West Indies, Kuldeep spun a web around the opponents after being carted all over the park.

His mental strength is commendable, considering the tough start to his career. When he did not get selected in the Under-15 squad for Uttar Pradesh, he thought about giving up the game altogether. But, through his four-year period, Kuldeep Yadav scaled records that are enviable. The fastest spinner to 100 wickets, a major role in India’s series win against Australia in 2017. His haul of 6/25 is the best by a left-arm spinner in the history of ODI cricket.

Tough times may have fallen on Kuldeep Yadav now. He has been out of favor with the Indian cricket team during the last two years. He has not gotten many games for the Kolkata Knight Riders franchise in the last two years. The double whammy has hurt his confidence. In South Africa, he took 17 wickets in six matches while he managed to take eight wickets in four games against New Zealand. In 2018, Kuldeep Yadav completed the set and took 5/24 against England in Manchester. Thus, he is one of the nine bowlers to have a five-wicket haul in all formats.

Kuldeep Yadav was picked by the Mumbai Indians in 2012 but he did not play a game. However, his purple patch began with his association with the Men in Purple.
