Bangladesh came close to defeating India for the first time ever but a brilliant partnership between Iyer and Ashwin turned the tide towards India’s direction. Cheteshwar Pujara was declared the Player of the Series for being the highest run-scorer with 222 runs which came at an average of 74 in two Tests. The 3rd highest run scorer for India was Shubman Gill who impressed once again in the longest format, he scored 157 runs. The top wicket-taker for India was Kuldeep Yadav who picked up 8 wickets, Axar Patel also bagged 8 wickets but he did this in 2 matches while Kuldeep did it in just one, he didn’t feature in the Playing XI in the 2nd test.
