Nitish Kumar Reddy who emerged as the savior for the Orange Army, showcasing authority and determination with the bat. He reached his fifty milestone and stitched together a crucial partnership with Abdul Samad
In a thrilling encounter between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Punjab Kings, it was Nitish Kumar Reddy’s scintillating knock of 64 runs that propelled SRH to a respectable total of 182/9 at the end of their allotted 20 overs. Facing a dire situation early on in the innings, SRH managed to cross the 180-run mark, thanks to some patchy bowling from the Punjab Kings.
Winning the toss and electing to bat first, SRH got off to a lackluster start, losing key wickets of Travis Head (21), Abhishek Sharma (16), and Aiden Markram (0) within the powerplay. Head, who survived an early scare as the hosts opted not to review a close call, failed to capitalize on the opportunity and fell victim to a delivery from Rabada.

Amidst the early wickets, SRH relied on Rahul Tripathi to provide some impetus to their innings, but he could only muster 11 runs before departing. Heinrich Klaasen also failed to make an impact, managing just 9 runs off as many balls.
However, it was Nitish Kumar Reddy who emerged as the savior for the Orange Army, showcasing authority and determination with the bat. He reached his fifty milestone and stitched together a crucial partnership with Abdul Samad, who played a quickfire cameo of 25 runs off 12 balls.
Reddy’s impressive innings came to an end in the 17th over, courtesy of Arshdeep’s bowling, but Shahbaz Ahmed’s late flourish with an unbeaten 14 runs off just 7 balls ensured that SRH reached a competitive total.
On the bowling front, Arshdeep Singh stood out for Punjab Kings, claiming four important wickets. Sam Curran and Harshal Patel also contributed with a couple of wickets each, while Kagiso Rabada managed to scalp one.
As the match enters the second innings, Punjab Kings now face a target of 183 runs to secure victory in this highly anticipated encounter.
