The 9th Place Play-Off at the ICC World Cup Qualifiers will see the United States play against the United Arab Emirates at the Takashinga Sports Club in Harare on July 6. After having no win in the group stages of the Qualifiers, the United States took on Ireland in the Seventh Place Play-Off Semi-Final but they lost. As a result, they will now play the Ninth Place Play-Off against the United Arab Emirates and they will also hope to do well. After being put into bat, the United States batters failed to do well as they got out on 196, with Saiteja Mukkamalla top-scoring with 55. The bowlers claimed four wickets but Ireland chased down the total in 34.2 overs.
The United Arab Emirates, on the other hand, were placed in Group B of the Qualifiers and they have failed to win a single game and finished at the bottom of the points table. They faced Nepal in the Seventh Place Play-Off Semi-Final, which ended up being a thrilling contest with the United Arab Emirates having lost as well. Although captain Vriitya Aravind scored 44, a lack of contributions from others meant cost them the game.
The match will be televised on Star Sports Network (SS1 SD+HD). However, it will also be live-streamed on Disney+ HotStar and FanCode.
