Sri Lanka will play against Ireland in the 15th Match of the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers 2023 at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo on June 25. Sri Lanka have had a great start to the tournament, winning both of their games so far and sitting comfortably at the top of the points table. Ireland, meanwhile, they have faced two back-to-back defeats and they are currently placed at the bottom of the table. In their last match against Oman, Sri Lanka put up a dominant performance, winning by 10 wickets. Dimuth Karunaratne and Pathum Nissanka scored crucial runs to chase down the small target as well. Wanindu Hasaranga did well with the ball, claiming five wickets, while Lahiru Kumara scalped three wickets as well.
Although Ireland faced a close defeat against Scotland in their second match as well, Curtis Campher’s outstanding knock of 120 runs and George Dockrell’s 69 runs showed their batting potential. Mark Adair, Josh Little, and George Dockrell did well with the ball, taking wickets to keep Ireland in the game until the final over as well. However, seeing Sri Lanka’s strong form and their all-round performance in the last match, they are firm favourites in this game. However, Ireland have shown resilience with their batting and they will be eager to bounce back and seal the deal as well.
The match will be televised on Star Sports Network (SS1 SD+HD). However, it will also be live-streamed on Disney+ HotStar and FanCode.
