The Netherlands and Sri Lanka will take on each other in the second match of the Super Sixes at the ICC World Cup Qualifiers 2023 at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo on Friday, June 30. The Netherlands are in a great position as they have secured a place in the super sixes of the tournament after winning three consecutive matches as well. After a stunning win over West Indies, the Netherlands finished the group’s stages second in the Group A points table with six points in their name as well. However, bowling first, the bowlers failed to do well as the Netherlands gave away a mammoth total of 374/6 in 50 overs. In reply, Teja Nedamanuru (111) and Scott Edwards (67) did well for the Dutch team, followed by a late cameo from Logan van Beek (28 off 14 balls) as well, who ensured that the game finished in a tie on the final ball of the game. Then, Logan van Been smashed 30 runs in the super over and picked up two wickets with the ball as the Netherlands sealed the deal.
Sri Lanka, on the other hand, looks to book a place at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 after their dominant show in the group stages. With four consecutive wins, Sri Lanka finished the group stages on the top of the Group B points table with eight points to their name as well. While batting first, Pathum Nissanka (75) and Charith Asalanka (63) scored the fifties as Sri Lanka got bowled out for just 245 runs in 49.3 overs as well. Defending a modest total, Maheesh Theekshana scaled three crucial wickets as they restricted Scotland to 163 runs and entered the super sixes with a convincing 82-run victory as well. Seeing this, a thrilling contest can be expected as well.
The match will be televised on Star Sports Network (SS1 SD+HD). However, it will also be live-streamed on Disney+ HotStar and FanCode.
