The Seventh Place Play-off of the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers 2023 will see Ireland play against Nepal at the Takashinga Sports Club in Harare on July 4. Ireland had a poor show in the competition. They managed to win only one game out of four in the group stages and they have failed to qualify for the Super Six. They beat the United States in the Seventh Place Play-Off Semi-Final and they will look to carry forward the winning momentum as well. Notably, the bowling unit did well and knocked over the United States on 196, with Craig Young finishing with figures of 3/35 as well. The top-order batters then stepped up and did well with the bat as they chased down the total in the 35th over with six wickets in hand as well.
On the other hand, Nepal also had a similar campaign in the group stages. They lost three games out of four to be eliminated from the Qualifiers as well. They beat the United Arab Emirates in the Seventh Place Play-Off Semi-Final to cement a place against the Ireland side on Tuesday. Karan KC and Sandeep Lamichhane picked up three wickets each as they restricted UAE to 181. Dipendra Singh Airee played a stunning knock of 79* to help his side reach the finish line with three wickets in hand. Nepal will be hoping to win against Ireland in their upcoming clash as well.
The match will be televised on Star Sports Network (SS1 SD+HD). However, it will also be live-streamed on Disney+ HotStar and FanCode.
