England women are currently hosting South Africa women’s team in a series across formats which started with a one-off Test which ended in a draw at The Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton. After that, the three-match ODI series are taking place which will run from July 11 to 18. After the conclusion of the ODI series, a three-match T20I series will be played from July 21 to July 25. However, the 1st ODI has taken place at the County Ground in Northampton and England started with a convincing win as well.
South Africa Women won the toss and opted to bat first. They got off to a poor start as they lost two key wickets within the powerplay. While Laura Wolvaardt scored a steady 43, it was Chloe Tryon who smashed a quickfire 88 off 73 and along with her, Nadine de Klerk also hit 38 and guided the team to post 218 runs before getting all out within 48 overs. While chasing, Emma Lamb smashed her maiden ODI hundred and Natalie Sciver hit a blitzy 55 off 36 and reached the target within 32.1 overs.
