England women’s team will host South Africa in the third and final ODI at the Grace Road, Leicester on Monday. The first ODI took place at the July 11 at the County Ground, Northampton while the second match took place on July 15 at the County Ground, Bristol. The series started after the one-off Test match between England and South Africa ended in a draw.
South Africa women’s team stars Marizanne Kapp, Lizelle Lee and Sinalo Jafta will be a part of the limited-overs series against England after missing out on the only Test. Dane van Niekerk, meanwhile, was unavailable for selection as he continues to recover from the ankle injury that has sidelined her since January. The limited-overs series will be a dress rehearsal for both the teams ahead of their participation in the Commonwealth Games women’s T20 event.
The Grace Road stadium in Leicester was opened to the spectators in 1878. The stadium has a seating capacity of 12000 and is also known as County Ground. It is the home to Leicestershire and the surface has traditionally benefited the bowlers with the Average 1st inning score recorded at 218.
