The fifth and final Test of the Ashes 2023 between England and Australia will take place on July 27 at the Kennington Oval in London. With the series at 2-1 in favour of the visitors, Australia, and they have managed to retain the Ashes, now the hosts, England would like to level the series as well. However, England lost the first two Tests before bouncing back in the third and came into the fourth Test with a lot of confidence as well. They won the toss and asked Australia to bat first and restricted them to 317, with Chris Woakes picking up a fifer. Later, Zak Crawley scored 189 and the fifties from the middle-order batters helped them post 592 on the board to get a huge first-innings lead of 275 as well.
Australia tried hard, with Marnus Labuschagne scoring a century to help them get to 214/5 before rain spoiled the fourth day. And, no further play was possible as the entire fifth day was abandoned and the game ended in a draw as well, which meant that Australia managed to retain the Ashes. However, England had a great chance to level the series and now they will be looking to draw the series level by winning the fifth Test as well.

The pitch at the Kennington Oval is a well-balanced one which helps the pacers with lateral movement and the batters will need time to set their eyes in initially. And, after that, the batters can smash and punish the bowlers all over the park. However, heavy rain is predicted on the first two days of the fifth Test and the weather is likely to get better on the last three days as well.
