Sandra Perkovic is a discus throw champion who hails from Croatia. She has won the world championships twice, in 2013 and 2017. She won the Olympic crowns in 2012 and 2016. She is a six-time gold medallist at the European Championships, having won gold in 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2022. She is the only female athlete to have done so. Elkasević was born on February 18, 1983, in Prijedor, SFR Yugoslavia’s SR Bosnia and Herzegovina. He won the World Junior Championships in 2002. Although he struggled to adjust to an international senior level, he competed at the World Championships in 2005 and the Olympic Games in 2004. However, he couldn’t reach the final. His personal best throw is 20.94 meters, which he achieved at Velenje in June 2005. At June 2002 in Zagreb, he recorded a distance of 21.96 meters with the junior shot of 6 kg. This was the junior world record until June 2009, when David Storl broke it. He also has a discus throw distance of 60.54 meters, which he attained in May 2005 at La Jolla, California. However, on January 1, 2023, Sandra, through a post on Instagram announced that they were soon going to get married. She not just posted a picture of her ring, but one of the phrases from her post stated, “Future Mrs. Elkasević.”
