Born on March 12, 1992, in Portaferry, Northern Ireland, Ciara Mageean is a middle distance runner who excels in the 1500 metres. She has won three medals at the European Athletics Championships: bronze in 2016; silver in 2022; and bronze in 2019 indoors. Ciara Mageean also won silver at the Commonwealth Games in 2022.
At the Under-18 and Under-20 age divisions, she won three silver medals at the World and European levels. In both the Rio Olympics of 2016 and the Tokyo Olympics of 2020, Mageean represented Ireland.
