Jeswin Aldrin finished 4th in the Lucerne Meet with a jump of 7.82m at Spitzen Leichtathletik in Lucerne on Tuesday. Simon Ehammer set the record with a jump over 8m to finish first at the event, after trailing until the 5th round. Former World champion Tajay Gayle (7.98m) and Olympic champion Miltiadis Tentoglou (7.94m) were the other two athletes on the podium. Aldrin delivered a 7.82m in the final attempt but it wasn’t enough.
The Tamil Nadu youngster will next be at Golden Fly Series meet in Liechtenstein on September 11. The qualification doors for next year’s World Championships, in Budapest, will commence if Aldrin jumps 8.25m it will help him make the cut. Aldrin was coming to the event after last month’s World Championships in Oregon (USA) where he failed to qualify for the final.
