“MJF will not have a lot of freedom in WWE” - Chris Jericho

In spite of being a legend in the business, Jericho said that he is in no position to tell MJF what he wants to do with his career because ultimately it is up to the individual.

Of late, only two names have dominated the wrestling world. One is Vince McMahon and the other is Maxwell Jacob Friedman also known as MJF. MJF isn’t a likeable person and things got heated a couple of weeks ago when he went off on the AEW management for not paying him well. He took the microphone in the middle of the ring and went on a rant where he called Tony Khan a “f***ing mark” and also accused him of paying “ex-WWE guys” more than him. He ended the promo by demanding that Kha fire him so that he can go and work elsewhere.

Now one person who isn’t any stranger to controversy is Chris Jericho. Y2J was giving an interview to TalkSPORT when he was asked how MJF would fare in the WWE and his reaction was not very positive. Jericho said, “Oh absolutely, (his character would be watered down). He’s better off staying in AEW. But, again, don’t stick your finger in the light socket. You tell a little kid not to do that and they’re going to do it to see what happens.”

MJF can leave if he wants to

In spite of being a legend in the business, Jericho said that he is in no position to tell MJF what he wants to do with his career because ultimately it is up to the individual. He also said that he understands that people in wrestling shift around to see how far they can go in other promotions, something Jericho did time and time again in his own career. Jericho said, “I did it to come to AEW. I walked away from WWE. When I signed my AEW contract Vince McMahon said ‘Can you get out of it?’ No, you told me to go here!

“Same thing happened when I left WCW to come to WWE. Sometimes you got to take a chance and if you believe in yourself and you feel you aren’t getting your dues, then you got to go elsewhere. So if Max, or Cody, if they want to go elsewhere, that’s kind of the way it goes. That’s pro sports and that’s what pro wrestling is. You got to have the best team possible with people that want to be there.”
