Last Sunday at Forbidden Door, Sting and Darby Allin defeated Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara, but neither of those men participated in the finish. However, Tetsuya Naito and Minoru Suzuki from New Japan weren’t in the Tornado Tag main event of the June 28 Dynamite, so we didn’t anticipate that issue tonight.

There was lots of anguish in this one thanks to Jericho’s “Painmaker” alter ego. Notably, at this point, the 64-year-old Icon motioned Allin to leave from a high point before leaping down a ladder and landing on two tables that Darby and he had draped Guevara over at ringside. He didn’t get everything, and it seemed like he hit the outermost table mouth first.

Sting didn’t stop there

Sting missed some of the action while Jericho and Allin sparred, but he came back for the finish (which happened in a five-minute overrun that was unusual for Dynamite) with at least a bloodied lip and possibly some dental damage. A Codebreaker that Jericho brought had a friendly appearance. Jericho, who was also bloodied, attempted the Judas Effect, but Sting avoided it. When the Scorpion Death Drop failed, he locked three opponents in a Scorpion DeathLock, forcing The Painmaker to tap.

With another victory against Jericho and Guevara, one may assume that this feud is over for at least a little while. However, Sting will likely need some time to recover. But by this time, we’ve discovered that there aren’t many things the Stinger can’t do.
