Even though a handful of the announcers are new to the company, AEW: Collision will feature an announce team heavy on names that longtime pro wrestling fans will recognise when it airs in Chicago on Saturday night. The complete announcer lineup was made public by AEW CEO and GM Tony Khan on Friday through Twitter. Since the 1990s, Kevin Kelly has been a constant in pro wrestling commentary. He enjoyed working for WWE from 1996 to 2003, and from 2010 to 2017, he was employed by Ring of Honour. His work as the English play-by-play announcer for New Japan Pro-Wrestling, a position he’s held since 2015, may, however, be his greatest.

The team

Kevin Kelly, Nigel McGuinness, And Jim Ross Revealed As AEW Collision Broadcast Team. Prior to being forced to retire in 2011 due to injuries, Nigel McGuinness wrestled as a wrestler for ROH and Impact (while it was still part of TNA). Since then, he has worked as a color analyst for both WWE and ROH (where he was paired with Kelly). Although this will be his first TV job for the promotion, AEW revealed in April that he had joined the organization.

Jim Ross has alternated between Dynamite and Rampage depending on his schedule and health, so it seems like the third man in the booth would be the ideal position for him at this point in his career. He should be on Collision whenever possible, and AEW should switch up who fills the third position as needed. Since 2019, Ross has been a member of AEW. He has primarily switched from calling matches for AEW Dynamite to AEW Rampage in recent months, though he still does so sometimes at AEW pay-per-views.

‘Doing both!’

Kelly responded to a tweet from a fan who questioned the impact of his work with Collision on his NJPW commentary. In his letter, he promised to carry out both. Kelly also mentioned that when he is in Japan for the G1 Climax 33, he would have stand-in assistance for Collision.
