WWE 2K22’s official entire roster was unveiled on Monday, ahead of the game’s March 11 release date, and fans immediately realized that a huge number of wrestlers included in the game are no longer with the organization. WWE started the practice of laying off a big number of wrestlers in April 2020, with more than 80 laid off in 2021 when WWE 2K22 was still in production.

Many of the dismissed stars have subsequently moved on to other firms, including All Elite Wrestling, Impact Wrestling, and Ring of Honor before it went on hiatus. The complete list of wrestlers may be seen below.

Former WWE wrestlers after release

Billie Kay and Peyton Royce, former IIconcis, have relaunched as The IInspiration (Jessie McKay and Cassie Lee). Since their debut in Impact Wrestling at Bound for Glory in October, the duo has held the Knockouts Tag Team Championships.

Strowman, now known as Adam Scherr, made an appearance at Ring of Honor’s Final Battle in December while aligning himself with EC3’s Control Your Narrative. It was recently reported that CYN would be its own promotion and is in the process of negotiating a national broadcast agreement.

Cesaro’s departure from WWE was revealed last week when his contract expired. According to reports, WWE wanted to retain the “Swiss Superman” on a new contract, but the two sides couldn’t agree on a price.

Ember Moon, now known by her previous independent wrestling moniker Athena, made her in-ring comeback for Warrior Wrestling on Feb. 12 after being released in November. She and Thunder Rosa of AEW fought to a time limit tie for the company’s women’s title.

Scott is the only member of Hit Row to appear in the game since the others were fired in November. He’s reportedly on his way to AEW next month, according to reports last week.

Hardy, who was fired in December after refusing to undergo treatment, has begun marketing a new Hardy Boyz tour through different independent promotions, which will begin next month. He also recently announced that he was on his way to AEW, then backed it up the next day on Twitter.
