Snoop Dogg is the stage name of Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., who was born on October 20, 1971, in Long Beach, California. He is an American rapper, singer, and actor who first gained notoriety in the music industry in the early 1990s. Due to his unique voice and laid-back rhyming style, Snoop Dogg has become a cultural phenomenon whose music is enjoyed by listeners of all ages. In addition to his successful music career, Snoop has dabbled in acting, television, and even professional wrestling with WWE.
Snoop Dogg’s musical career took off after his first collaboration with Dr. Dre on the album “The Chronic” Which was an instant hit and it lingered in the charts for a long time. He would later release his own debut album named “Doggystyle” which would become another hit and top the charts. This in turn solidified his status as a key figure in the West Coast Hip-hop scene. Snoop has released numerous successful albums and has collaborated with numerous artists including Pharrell Williams and PSY.
When he performed as the Master of Ceremonies for a Lumberjill bout at WrestleMania XXIV in 2008, Snoop Dogg’s career with WWE officially started. Later, in 2009, he made a guest-hosting appearance on WWE Raw and became involved in a plot with the wrestler Chavo Guerrero. Snoop continued to make cameos over the years because of his notoriety and personality, which made him a perfect match for WWE scripting. He received an award for his contributions to the sport of professional wrestling by being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame’s celebrity wing in 2015.
Snoop Dogg has even hosted WrestleMania 39 along with The Miz. On the first night, he and Rey Mysterio pulled up to the ring riding a low-rider in order to pay homage to the late Eddie Guerrero. Later on Night 2, Shane McMahon and The Miz would clash but McMahon would blow out one of his knees which would force Snoop to improvise and come onto the stage. Afterward, he would punch The Miz and drop a people’s elbow on him and then win the match by pinning him.
Snoop Dogg is currently married to Shante Taylor. Both of them met in high school and soon got married on June 12, 1997. Both of them have three children together named Corde, Cordell, and Cori. And Snoop even had a 4th child, a son named Julain Corrie Broadus from his relationship with Laurie Holmond.
