The Undertaker is probably one of the most famous wrestlers to have wrestled in the WWE. Having made his WWE debut in 1990, the Deadman managed to keep himself relevant and achieve greatness like no other wrestler ever could. During his days as the Big Evil, The Undertaker got into a feud with former WWE Hardcore Champion Maven. It was at the 2002 Royal Rumble that Maven shocked the entire world when he eliminated The Undertaker from the Rumble sparking off a furious reaction from the Deadman. Maven was speaking to Chris Van Vliet when he revealed how he got to know about what would transpire and how The Undertaker took to the news.

Maven said, “All they told me in Cincinnati was, ‘Yeah, they are flying you to Atlanta. You are probably going to have a spot in the Rumble.’ I get to the arena. I am walking to the ring. Shane (Shane McMahon) and Taker (Undertaker) come up to see me and they are like ‘Mave, we wanna tell you what we got going on tonight.’ And already, why Shane? Why does he care? Then definitely why is Taker here? They are like, ‘Taker’s gonna throw everybody out, The Hardys, Lita.

“Then you are going to come out and it’s gonna be you and him and he is gonna do something and then you are gonna hit him with that dropkick and eliminate Taker.’ I am like what? And Taker, no lie, turns down, looks at Shane and goes are you f***ing kidding me? I thought he was being told this information at the time too and I am just like Jesus, I am dead. I am like ‘Oh God, please. Just die right now.’ And Taker looks and winks at me. That just goes to show the professional he was.”

The feud between The Undertaker and Maven

Maven and The Undertaker had a short but memorable feud. It was in 2002 when Taker turned heel and was portrayed as Big Evil. When Maven eliminated him from the Royal Rumble, Taker went mad and returned to the ring to eliminate Maven. He then attacked Maven with a steel chair and beat him all the way to the backstage area. The feud continued when The Rock cost The Undertaker his match with Maven for the Hardcore Championship. All in all, it was a memorable feud, one that is spoken about to this day.
