For someone who was a trash talker and didn’t care about what people thought about him, Stone Cold Steve Austin managed to make a lot of rivals along the way.

He had some epic feuds with the likes of Vince McMahon, The Rock, Triple H and The Undertaker etc.

From crossing the boss to throwing cars from great heights, the Texas Rattlesnake left no stone unturned to antagonise his rival. In this article, we take a look at some of his storied rivalries.

Vince McMahon

An employee going against his boss and kicking the daylights out of him. Stone Cold vs Vince McMahon was the most interesting rivalry from the Attitude Era and the most prolific of Austin’s career.

It began in 1997 when Austin stunned the boss with a Stone Cold Stunner and it led to McMahon being a roadblock on Austin’s way to becoming WWF champion. During that time, Austin also had a brief run-in with boxing legend Mike Tyson which led to Vince becoming an active wrestler himself with his whole mission being to make Austin’s life miserable. The duo duked it out and many wrestlers followed the example of Stone Cold and turned on their boss.

The Rock

The Rock and Stone Cold were the two faces of the company in the 90s. They essentially carried the company on their backs and we can safely say that WWE is what it is now because of these two men.

The two wrestlers first fought for the Intercontinental Championship and later began to fight for the World Championship. They had countless matches and their chemistry was off the charts. Both men traded insults like no one else and were truly stupendous on the mic.

Their two matches at WrestleMania will forever be remembered as classics that brought global recognition to the sport and the company. Austin also fought his last match with The Rock at WrestleMania 19 and then retired.

Triple H

The Texas Rattlesnake and The Game were at loggerheads with each other and had a stormy history together. In fact, the rivalry was so intense that Triple H orchestrated a hit and run on Austin in 1999.

Austin was not one to keep quiet as he got his revenge on Triple when he lifted his car and dropped it with the help of a forklift. That led to incredible matches between the two in 2001.
