Steven James Anderson (born December 18, 1964, Austin, Texas, United States) is an American professional wrestler, actor and television host. He is better known by his in-ring name Stone Cold Steve Austin in the WWE.

Austin was born to Beverly and James Anderson. He has three brothers (Scott, Kevin, and Jeff) and a younger sister, Jennifer. After finishing his education at Edna High School, Austin got a football scholarship to Wharton County Junior College followed by a full scholarship to the University of North Texas. He played football as a linebacker before his injury which forced him to play as a defensive end.

Austin said that he fell in love with the wrestling business when he was 7 or 8 years old. “I fell in love with the business when I was 7 or 8 years old. All I ever wanted to be was a professional wrestler. Wrestling was the biggest thing in my life.”

He is also a successful reality television host, hosting the CMT show “Redneck Island” from 2012 to 2016, and his own competition show “Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Challenge” on CMT from 2014 to 2017.

Austin is a big fan of real estate and has invested in various properties across the United States. The first property he bought around 2009. He bought the house next door in 2017 for $1.49 million in an off-market transaction. In April 2021 he sold the Marina Del Rey compound for $3.395 million. By the looks of things, he has done quite well since his retirement and is set from a financial standpoint.
