The WWE has seen a lot of wrestlers from other countries come in and make their mark but one import stands head and shoulders above the rest and his name is Sheamus. The Celtic Warrior has been trailblazing his way through the WWE and has achieved success in everything that he was a part of. Be it in singles competition where he made history by becoming the first Irish WWE champion or in tag team competition where he formed a great partnership with Cesaro called the BAR, Sheamus has done it all.

The Hawk has been a nemesis for some of the best wrestlers on the planet and he has taken titles away from the likes of John Cena, Triple H, Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns. He’s been a former WWE Champion, World Heavyweight Champion, United States Champion, and Tag Team Champion and it’s only fair that he had some great rivals during that period. In this article, we take a look at his best rivalries.

Daniel Bryan

Sheamus put his career on the line in a match against Daniel Bryan when the latter was the United States champion. The Irishman went on to defeat Bryan and win the match that gave him his first US title. The two men would continue to fight against each other and it led to numerous classics as technique took on brute strength.

Let’s not forget their 18-second match at WrestleMania 28 where Sheamus defeated Daniel Bryan with a brogue kick and won the World Heavyweight Championship in what was an iconic moment.

Triple H

The Celtic Warrior and the King of Kings took on each other on several occasions and were involved in some extreme matches. To say that the two men had a complicated relationship would be an understatement. They have been on the same side at times and they didn’t even see eye to eye at other times.

Their most heated confrontation came when Triple H eliminated Sheamus at the Elimination Chamber, resulting in Sheamus losing his WWE Championship and suffering a concussion. Sheamus would return and face Triple H at WrestleMania and Extreme Rules and get revenge on The Game.

John Cena

Sheamus made a huge first impression when he attacked John Cena and put him through a table. After winning a battle royal to determine who would challenge Cena for the WWE title, the Irishman made a statement when he put the leader of the Cenation through a table.

What ensued were fiery promos from Cena and the crowd loved every bit at a time when the WWE was going through a bit of a slump. At TLC, the two men would meet in a tables match and Sheamus would succeed in winning the title and becoming the first Irish WWE Champion.
