Van Dam has wrestled for almost all the major wrestling companies in the world and has fought some legends. He has had some memorable rivalries which have seen him elevate himself and his opponents. In this article, we will take a look at some of his rivals.

Jeff Hardy

When RVD first made his way to the WWE, he found himself going head to head with another wrestler of the same ilk as him, Jeff Hardy. The charismatic enigma and the high flyer had insane chemistry together as they had great match after great match and had fans on the edge of their seats Their matches at events like Invasion and Summerslam in 2001 elevated Van Dam to a whole new level in the wrestling world and some of the hardcore fans remember this rivalry even to this day as bright spots in the muddied affair that was the Invasion.

Eddie Guerrero

Van Dam and Eddie Guerrero went head to head in 2002 in what is not spoken very much about these days. This feud took place at a time when both men were at the peak of their powers. When they fought for the Intercontinental Championship, the matches became better and better and they even had a great ladder match on RAW. The two men were so good with each other that it seemed like they couldn’t put a foot wrong. It was this feud that helped Rob Van Dam start his journey to reach the great heights of the WWE.

John Cena

When ECW was enjoying a renaissance in the mid-2000s, Van Dam was chosen to be the face of the company and standing in his way of making it to the top was none other than John Cena. Be it on the mic or in the ring, both wrestlers complemented each other very well. They represented their brands with pride and had a great match in front of a crazy crowd in New York. The rivalry was not as personal as others and that’s why Van Dam and Cena fought over ideologies and it would be a notable stop on the careers of both, especially for newly-crowned WWE and ECW champion RVD.
