When asked about the details of the offer, Freedom answered:

“I already have an offer. I’m just trying to figure out what is going to happen with this basketball thing. Obviously, I’m 29 and I want to play another like seven years in this league. I’m just going to figure out my basketball career first and then see what’s going to happen but I already have an offer, it’s just I’m not taking it right now. I love basketball, I don’t want to quit basketball.”

Freedom is a one time WWE 24/7 champion

Freedom previously made waves when he won and lost the 24/7 Title from and to R-Truth on the September 9, 2019 episode of Raw at the Mecca of wrestling, Madison Square Garden. The former New York Knicks player was trained in wrestling by WWE Hall of Famer, Diamond Dallas Page.

Freedom has been very vocal about human rights issues over the last couple of years. He has called out the Chinese government’s treatment of the Uyghurs and has publicly berated LeBron James for failing to criticise China. Kanter who adopted the name Freedom after gaining American citizenship in November 2021 had his fair share of run-ins with Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan.
