Matt Riddle won’t be appearing on WWE Television for six weeks, as was revealed on the SmackDown edition of December 9, 2022. After being attacked by Solo Sikoa on last week’s broadcast of RAW, it was announced that Riddle will be sidelined for six weeks of action.

However, it is not the true reason WWE canceled Riddle’s appearance on television for the following six weeks, and it is not the first time WWE has had to do so. WWE had intended for Matt Riddle and Seth Rollins to face off at SummerSlam, but the match was postponed until Clash at the Castle. A new “creative direction” was said to be the cause of the alteration at the time.

Is Matt riddle going to “rehab” or getting “fired”

According to sources, the bout was postponed because Matt Riddle tested positive for drugs before to SummerSlam, which was also the final test conducted under Vince McMahon’s rule. Since Vince was no longer in charge, Riddle’s major match against Rollins was moved to Clash at the Castle under a “new creative direction.” Cassidy Caynes of bodyslam.net was also told that the business warned Riddle at the time that a second failed drug test would result in a “rehab or fired” scenario, similar to what had happened with Jeff Hardy before.

This brings us to the most recent “six-week” television write-off for Matt Riddle. We were able to establish through sources that WWE fired Riddle off TV because he failed yet another drug test and would have to go to rehab.

Since most programs last 30 days and he would need to finish in time for his return in six weeks, the general consensus is that he has already started treatment or will do so shortly. It should be emphasized that WWE no longer tests for marijuana. Cassidy Caynes of bodyslam.net inquired about the specifics of the failed test but received no answer. Also, Riddle’s history of cocaine abuse makes things more suspicious.
