The Usos won the Bloodline Civil War tag team match that was the main event at WWE Money in the Bank. A great visual presentation established the tone for the battle, with the fans cheering on the Usos as they entered the ring. When Reigns and Solo Sikoa appeared, Michael Cole stated that Roman Reigns had last been pinned or surrendered on December 15th, 2019.

A rowdy audience contributed to the match’s “big fight feel” before the bout. Jimmy and Solo got things started. Solo had the upper hand in the early going, while Roman laughed in the corner. As Jey was tagged in, the tide shifted. Roman then requested the tag from Solo, who took his time in delivering it. Roman soon got the better of Jey by taunting the supporters. As Jey made a tag, Roman slid out of the ring to dodge the twins’ double superkick.

Roman returned to the arena after a motivational talk from Paul Heyman and dominated before tagging in Solo. For a lengthy period, Reigns and Sikoa had the upper hand, including preventing Jimmy a hot tag and executing strikes outside the ring. Jimmy avoided a Superman Punch and ultimately tagged Jey. When Roman was tagged in, Jey hit suicide dives on each of his opponents until Reigns countered.

The Four men come face to face

A four-man scuffle ensued, followed by a series of near-falls, including Jimmy powering out of a guillotine. The referee was then bumped, leaving Roman to withstand the 1D as the crowd counted to ten. Jimmy received the Samoan Spike from Sikoa, followed by a spear from Reigns. Then Reigns stacked both twins for the pin. As the referee counted down, the Usos kicked out, eliciting a huge response from the audience.

Jimmy was super kicked onto the announce table by an enraged Sikoa. Jimmy jumped out of the way as he went for the splash, knocking Solo out of the bout. Meanwhile, Jey and Roman exchanged superkicks and spears, resulting in another near-fall as Jey kicked out. Following a low blow, the Usos grabbed control with superkicks and their characteristic double-team techniques. The action reached a climax as Jey Uso pinned Roman Reigns for the first time in over three years.

Roman Reigns was last pinned in TLC 2019

In a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs battle at WWE TLC 2019, Baron Corbin pinned Reigns. Reigns was unpinned for almost 1200 days, but the run came to an end at Money in the Bank 2023.

WWE surprised the world at Money in the Bank when Roman Reigns was pinned in the main event for the first time in over three years. The Usos defeated him and Solo Sikoa in the Bloodline Civil War.

After a fantastic bout that included numerous spectacular moments, including several impressive near-falls from The Tribal Chief, Jey Uso pinned Reigns. Finally, a series of superkicks followed by a top rope splash knocked him out.

A sad Roman Reigns makes his way out of the arena as Jimmy and Jey celebrated their historic triumph. He sat on the floor, facing the slope, his face expressionless.

Reigns let out an angry scream before his despair overtook him in a moment not visible on the Money in the Bank show. He then got down on one knee to speak with Paul Heyman. A fan in the front row at the end of the entry ramp recorded this.
