It may be difficult to tell truth from kayfabe in professional wrestling. When Kane was presented as The Undertaker’s brother, everyone assumed they were real-life siblings. That, however, was not the case. The Big Red Monster was merely The Undertaker’s on-screen brother or kayfabe. Similarly, we’ll discover whether Roman Reigns and The Rock are real-life cousins.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, 50, is without a doubt the biggest wrestling figure to have achieved success in Hollywood. The Rock made his professional wrestling debut in 1995, becoming the face of The Attitude Era with Stone Cold Steve Austin. The Great One’s God-given skill opened the door for him to achieve success in both WWE and Hollywood.

He is recognized as one of the highest-paid actors in the world today. Roman Reigns, on the other hand, made his WWE debut in 2010. Roman Reigns, like the Rock in the Attitude Era, is the most elite wrestler on the roster right now. His clout in the wrestling industry is unrivaled. The Tribal Chief is the current Undisputed WWE Champion with the longest reign. Although both wrestlers are Samoans, are they actually cousins and biologically related? Yes and no, respectively.

What is the relationship between The Great One and The Tribal Chief?

Both wrestlers are Anoa’i clan members. However, Roman Reigns and The Rock are blood brothers rather than blood relatives. Amituana’i Anoa’i, Roman Reign’s grandpa, adopted Peter Mavia as a member of the Anoa’i tribe and raised him as his brother. The Rock’s maternal grandpa is Peter Mavia. Mavia has since become the uncle of Sika, the father of Roman Reigns. As a result, Mavia’s descendants formed part of the Anoa’i clan’s family tree.

Rocky Johnson, The Rock’s father, was a Black Canadian, and Patricia A. Anoa’i, Roman Reigns’ mother, was a white Italian. Rosey, the late wrestler, was Roman Reigns’ real-life elder brother. The Tribal Chief’s first cousins were Yokozuna and Umaga. Roman Reigns’ cousins are The Usos and Nia Jax. Overall, The Rock and Roman Reigns are blood cousins according to the induction of Peter Mavia into the Anoa’i clan.

The Rock has hinted at a WWE WrestleMania match next year

Although The Rock’s position for WrestleMania 39 is not fixed in stone, he will not be performing since he has stated to WWE that he does not have enough time to get into the shape he believes he needs to be in a match against Roman Reigns. Dave Meltzer observed on Wrestling Observer Radio that Rock has left the door open for a match at WrestleMania 40 next year.

WWE has previously stated that Reigns will defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Title at WrestleMania 39 against Cody Rhodes.

“The same goes for Dwayne [The Rock]. Dwayne could be there in some way or fashion. There are people going, ‘Oh, don’t you think it’s a swerve they keep saying,’ it’s not a swerve. I’ve been told this for a while. There’s always the maybe it’s a secret like the Pat McAfee thing right? (Royal Rumble surprise return). Only a few people know. We’re past that point, Cody Rhodes won the Royal Rumble. He’s getting the championship match. It ain’t’ Dwayne anymore. Dwayne’s not wrestling anybody else unless it’s a three-second match….He did not feel that he had the time to get in the shape that he needed to be in to do a Wrestlemania-caliber main event and he left the door open for next year,” Meltzer stated.
