Watch: Brock Lesnar laughing after his loss against Cody Rhodes

In the main event of WWE Backlash 2023, Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar’s match lived up to the hype although the ending was a bit controversial.

After unexpectedly losing to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39, Cody Rhodes bounced back Saturday at WWE Backlash in Puerto Rico by defeating Brock Lesnar in a grudge match.

Match Between Brock “Beast Incarnate” and Cody “American Nightmare” Rhodes was hard-hitting with a lot of big moves. As soon as the match started Rhodes went after Lesnar, then Lesnar drove Rhodes into the opposite side cable. Brock Lesnar struck Rhodes with several German suplexes in quick succession.

In response to Brock’s suplexes, Rhodes delivered multiple Cross Rhodes, but neither of them was able to get a pinfall by using those maneuvers. Up until the beast’s head hit an exposed turnbuckle part and Lesnar started bleeding from his forehead and in no time his whole face got covered in blood. Till the moment Brock Lesnar had the upper hand. As soon as Rhodes saw an opening he hit his finisher twice for a close call.

When Lesnar trapped Rhodes in the kimura lock, it seemed that he had the upper hand. However, The American Nightmare fought back by rolling on top of The Beast Incarnate and stealing the pin. People complained that Cody Rhodes wasn’t looking as strong as he did during his match against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. But everyone needs to understand that Brock Lesnar is the most dangerous wrestler in the WWE and not everyone can dominate him in terms of strength and speed. For me the match between Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar was as expected, fierce and entertaining.

After the show went off the air, Puerto Rican fans showed respect to Lesnar, all the fans were chanting “Thank you Lesnar” and “Suplex City” which were heard in the arena, as we all know Lesnar is known for his fierce and dominating character but after hearing people chanting his name The Beast started laughing, which led to the former Universal Champion coming out of character.
