Micah Makanamaikalani Christenson was born on May 8, 1993. He plays volleyball professionally and is an American. He won the 2014 World League, the 2015 World Cup, and the bronze medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio. He also competes for the US national team. He represents Zenit Kazan in professional clubs. Christenson was conceived by Robert and Charlene in Honolulu, Hawaii.
His mother Charlene won three volleyball national championships and was a two-time All-American while both of his parents were students at the University of Hawaii at Hilo, where his mother played volleyball and his father, Robert, played basketball. Joanna, his sister, was a volleyball player at Southern Utah University. Christenson joined Asics Quicksilver’s club volleyball team in 2005. He also played basketball and won two Gatorade Player of the Year awards in Hawai’i.
He started for the U. S. Gold-medal winning junior national team that competed in the 2009 FIVB Boy’s Youth World Championship in Italy and the 2010 NORCECA Junior Championship in Canada. He competed for the U. In 2011. S. Junior National Team in Brazil in 2011 at the FIVB Men’s Junior World Championship, where they finished fourth. He led the U. S. To win the gold medal at the 2012 NORCECA Men’s Junior Continental Championship in Colorado Springs for the Junior National Team.
His participation in the 2013 U. S. Despite being called up to the senior team, he was on the men’s junior national team. When he first joined the U. S. Christenson won the Best Server and Best Setter awards for the USA’s national team at the NORCECA Championship, which the USA won. He also participated in the 2013 FIVB World Grand Champions Cup. At the World League in Florence, Italy, in 2014, he took home the gold medal. He started competing at the senior level at age 20.
He was a member of the Cucine Lube Civitanova club team that won the 2016–2017 Superlega, Italy’s top competition. He committed to playing for Zenit Kazan in Russia beginning in 2021 by signing a two-year deal. Kazan was able to win the inaugural season of the Russian SuperLeague in 2020 after only suffering one loss throughout the entire league in their first game against Dynamo Moscow.
