The tournament’s 22nd edition will be the FIVB Men’s U21 World Championship in volleyball in 2023. This two-times-a-year international junior volleyball tournament features the men’s national teams under 21. A team must be a member of an FIVB member association to compete in the World Championship. The FIVB is the sport’s world governing body. Bahrain’s capital city of Manama will serve as the location from July 7–16, 2023.
At the U-21 Volleyball World Championship, Thailand will take on Poland on Thursday. Poland is currently ranked second globally in rankings. Thailand is currently ranked twelve in the FIVB U-21 Men rankings. The volleyball matchup between two big teams on Thursday seems like it will be thrilling. The competition will be difficult for both teams to win, though.
A total of 16 national teams qualified for the final competition. Mexico was automatically qualified as the host and had to be held by December 31, 2022, at the latest, but ten additional teams qualified through five different continental competitions. The final 5 teams were chosen based on their position in the Men’s U21 FIVB World Ranking among the teams that haven’t yet qualified.
Teams will compete against one another in a round-robin style in each pool. The top two teams from each pool move on to the round-robin pools E and F of the second phase, while the remaining teams compete for positions from eighth to sixteenth in pools G and H. The winners and runners-up from pools E and F advance to the semifinals, where the medalists will be decided.
