Serbia will be looking to maintain their winning momentum in the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship 2022 when they face Poland. In the Tuesday night clash, Serbia will be the clear favourites on paper, however, Poland cannot be taken lightly since they are one of the tournament co-hosts. Having said that Poland have to be at the top of their game to get anything out of this fixture since Serbia have been unstoppable so far. The tournament is hosted in the Netherlands and Poland this year, and it will take place from 23rd September to 15th October.
It is to be noted that Serbia are the defending champions in this tournament after winning it four years ago against Italy. They began their title defence in impressive fashion, winning all five Pool C matches to get 14 points. On the other hand, Poland have produced a mixed set of results. They finished fourth in Pool B after managing ten points from five games. The tournament co-hosts won three and lost two matches in Phase 1.

The 24-team tournament will run from September 23 through October 15. The teams are split up into four groups of six teams each, and they compete in a round-robin format. Each pool’s top four teams advance to the second round and the 16 teams are divided into two pools of eight nations. The countries coming from the same first-round pool only play against opponents from a different first-round pool. Each pool’s top four teams compete in a quarterfinal round, with the winners moving on to the semifinals. The World Championship trophy will be up for grabs for the last-four victorious teams, while the third-place match pits the losers against each other.
