Thursday will witness the Netherlands take on Cuba on 8th June, 2023, at the FIVB Men's Volleyball Nations League 2023.
The FIVB Volleyball Men’s Nations League, which is a yearly men’s volleyball international competition, is back in action for its fifth installment. The competition is slated from June 6 to July 23, 2023, and will reach the final round hosted in the Ergo Arena, situated in Gdańsk, Poland. Last year, the tournament saw France winning the tournament for the first time ever. In this edition, Cuba will be gracing the court for the first time, replacing Australia, as a result of the happenings in the 2022 Nations League and the 2022 Challenger Cup.
The tournament will be a battlefield for sixteen determined teams. Out of these, ten teams – namely Argentina, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Iran, Japan, Poland, Serbia, and the USA – are in the coveted ‘core team’ category, which guarantees their participation in subsequent tournaments. The remaining six – Bulgaria, Canada, China, Cuba, Netherlands, and Slovenia – are in the fray as ‘challenger teams’, a position that puts them in the situation of possibly facing relegation from the competition.
Thursday will witness the Netherlands take on Cuba on 8th June, 2023, at the FIVB Men’s Volleyball Nations League 2023. It will be a clash between two challenger teams. The Netherlands are the no. 13 ranked team in the world, while Cuba are the World no. 12 sides. As the World Ranking of these two sides is close, the fans will expect a tough contest between the two sides. Considering Cuba is making their first appearance this year, the Netherlands have a slight advantage among the two teams.
