Saturday will see the clash between the core team Iran and the challenger team China at the FIVB Volleyball Men's Nations League 2023.
The fifth edition of the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Nations League got underway on June 6 and will continue until July 23, 2023, with the finals to be staged in Gdańsk, Poland. The first two pool group matches are currently taking place in Ottawa, Canada, and Nagoya, Japan. After this preliminary round, the final stage of the competition will have eight crucial matches. These matches will be held in a knockout form: the eight teams (seven teams and the host) will play in the quarterfinals, four in the semifinals, and two in the finals.
On the 9th of June, in the first match, World no. 2 Italy faced a straight-set loss to World no.6 the United States of America by 3-0 (15–25, 18–25, 19–25). World no. 4 Brazil won against World no. 8 Argentina in a game which went to five sets. Eventually, the higher-ranked team prevailed. In the third match of the day, World No. 3 France defeated China in a four-set match. The fourth match witnessed a nail-biting contest between World no. 1 Poland and World no. 23 Bulgaria. The lower-ranked Bulgaria looked like pulling off an upset but in the end, faced a defeat to the top team.
Saturday will see the clash between the core team Iran and the challenger team China at the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Nations League 2023. The World No. 25 Chinese side has won one out of three games and is placed twelfth. On the other hand, Iran is currently placed thirteenth, with two losses. However, Jingyin Zhang of China is one of the top performers in this tournament being the best scorer (55 points – 42 Attack points, 9 Block points, and 4 Serve points).
